This is an 18 size Waltham Model #1883, "Appleton, Tracy & Co." Grade, with 15 jewels. It's stem wind and lever set, and is housed in a nice gold-filled case. The serial number is 4243809, which dates it to about 1890. What's especially nice about this particular watch is that the movement has wonderful gilt damaskeening [or "damascening"]. Plain gilt movements are common, as are nickel damaskeened examples, but gilt damaskeened movements are a rare treat!
