Here we have an 18 size Waltham Model #1883 with 17 jewels. It is stem wind and pendant set, and housed in a triple-hinged "Guaranteed Genuine Silveroid" case made by the Keystone Watch Case Company ["genuine" imitation silver -- gotta love it!] Model 1883s are about as common as dirt, but this one happens to be an especially nice example with a highly damaskened movement that has gold screws, gold jewel settings and a gold regulator. This watch is listed in the "American Waltham Serial Number and Grade List" as an "Appleton, Tracy & Co." grade, but is simply marked "American Waltham Watch Co." on the movement. The serial number is 9058472, which dates it to right about 1900.
