Pocket Watch Collection

PLEASE NOTE:This website is for informational purposes only -- none of the watches displayed here are for sale. If you'd really like to buy something, feel free to visit my on-line store, where you can find a variety of pocket watch and clock-themed merchandise and some nifty clocks with replica railroad pocket watch dials.

Also, the fourth edition of my popular New Collector's Guide to Pocket Watches is now available on Amazon.com in both paperback and Kindle format.

This is a wonderful Waltham "Vanguard" pocket watch. It's a size 18, Model 1892, and dates to about 1902 [serial number 11025430]. It has 23 jewels with gold screw down jewel settings and matching gold screws, and is adjusted to 5 positions. It is stem wind and lever set and is most definitely a railroad grade watch. The watch is housed in a really lovely 25-year "J.Boss" gold-filled cased. Personally, I think the Model 1892 movement is one of the finest looking watch movements ever made, and this is highest grade they made in this model. It is also slightly rare to find a Model 1892 in a hunter configuration like this, which makes it especially nice.
